I was recently reminded that it was 5 years ago yesterday that we gathered with friends and family at The Pikes to announce that I would be a candidate for the House of Delegates. It's hard to believe that two elections later, I've completed my first full term in the Maryland General Assembly and the second term will begin on January 9th.
As I reflect on the past year, I'm grateful to have had this opportunity to work on behalf of the community and to pass meaningful legislation that will improve the lives of my constituents and other Marylanders. As I look forward to 2019, I'm excited to get to know my new colleagues and to continue the work broadening access to healthcare, protecting the vulnerable among us, and ensuring that our education system is preparing our students for the challenges ahead. In the coming weeks, we'll be sure to update you on what's happening in the General Assembly and what my legislative initiatives for the session will be.
I hope you will be blessed this holiday season with quality time with friends and family. May 2019 be a time of peace for us all.
