Shelly was sworn in as a member of the House of Delegates on January 14, 2015 and has proudly served and represented the 11th district in the General Assembly ever since. She was appointed to be a member of the House Appropriations Committee where she serves as Vice Chair of the Education and Economic Development Subcommittee and the Personnel Oversight Subcommittee.

Scholarships
Each year, Delegates and Senators in the Maryland General Assembly award thousands of Maryland students millions of dollars in financial aid. If you know of a student in need of financial assistance for the 2020-2021 academic school year, applications are now available for my Senatorial scholarship.
